The Kids Alive pantomime is the biggest touring free show in Australia.  Not only does the show visit metropolitan areas, but to date has visited 545 country towns, 44 remote communities and played to more than 225,000 students Australia wide.

Created to teach kids the five steps to water safety, Laurie Lawrence’s Kids Alive show has a colourful cast of characters including Lifesaver Lil, Wise Owl and naughty Boo.

The show conveys the Kids Alive – Do the five water safety message by performing the tale of Boo, a naughty alien who does not believe in water safety. One day boo falls into the pool and he doesn’t know how to swim.  Luckily, Wise Owl and Lifesaver Lil were supervising and knew resuscitation to save him.

The songs from the Pantomime include catchy tunes:

     • Do the Five
     • Cool as a Crab
     • Wise Owl
     • Balloon Face and
     • Swim King

Laurie said, “There is nothing better than seeing the kids enjoy the show because while they are singing the songs and dancing to the music they are learning the Kids Alive – Do the five message. You cannot underestimate how much information children, even at a very early age can absorb. Teaching them the simple Kids Alive steps to water safety is crucial in arming them against childhood drowning. Once children learn the message, they even teach their younger siblings, parents and grandparents”.
